Are SAT Subject Tests more difficult than AP exams?

to get a perfect score, yes.
are the questions harder? no.

how does that make sense? If it’s harder to get a perfect score, wouldn’t the questions be harder?

If I understand correctly, 1MX means that it’s easier to get a 5 on an AP test than a perfect 800 on a subject test because with the AP tests the range is covered by only 5 different sections, while subject tests are divided up into much smaller increments. For example, a 780/800 on a subject test isn’t a perfect score, but the equivalent score on an AP test would still be a 5.
