digestive enzymes

Anyone take these?

I bought some a while back after I had gallbladder surgery and was freaking myself out reading horror stories in the internet. I haven’t had any major problems and haven’t taken them. Of late, I do notice I have much worse heartburn. Always had some but found a course of prilosec really helped and I would be good for months. Now a course works while I am on it but a couple of days later it is as bad as ever (have also tried the otc nexium). Also have put on quite a bit of weight and am not eating more or worse.

Thinking of giving the enzymes a go. Read varying opinions about whether they are any good, but not that they can do any harm. Any experiences?

Are “digestive enzymes” like probiotics? If so, I have been taking “Pearls” once a day in the morning, for about 2 years now. They have changed my life for the better. I buy them on Amazon for 1/3 the price of Target and actually have them on a subscribe and save for an even better price.
