Digitally manipulated photos in Art Supplement

I’ve been thinking of what photos to choose for my art supplement and most of those I really love are manipulated. I adjusted the contrast, the colours and also added film light leaks to some. I suppose that is not a problem, right? Sorry if this question’s silly but I’m freaked out and worried about this whole application process.
Oh and do you think colleges will ask what software I used?
Note: I do not intend to major in photography but in art history and I won’t apply to art schools but LACs and Ivies.

As long as you are not representing your photographs as photojournalism, it is probably okay to manipulate them. Your interviewer may possibly ask you about the software just to verify that you did the work yourself.

Thanks for the info!
