dilemma as an undecided major.... help me.

<p>Okay.
So I’ve been pretty much freaking out about this for a while–about choosing a major, that is.
I’m only a freshman in the College, but I’m an undecided major… when people tell me that I have plenty of time, yeah, I believe them, but when I look at the courses I’m taking (and the courses I’m planning on taking in the future), I don’t think I’m prepared at ALL.</p>

<p>This is what I know:
subjects I like: studio arts, molecular biology, literature, spanish, culture studies, film studies, philosophy…</p>

<p>subjects I want to try out: sociology, psychology, economics, health & societies, visual studies…</p>

<p>subjects I don’t like: math.</p>

<p>… I have no idea how I’m supposed to deal with this. I’m currently just fulfilling requirements while trying out different things on my list. But I highly doubt that I’m going to get to all of them before I have to declare my major.</p>

<p>I’m planning on taking Spanish for all 4 years too, so I can study abroad…</p>

<p>you can probably find some classes that span areas on your list</p>

<p>for example:</p>

<p>mol bio - psych - hsoc can be combined into a bbb class, maybe
studio arts - film studies - visual studies into a fine arts or visual studies class
or spanish - culture - lit - film studies in some spanish culture class
mol bio - sociology - econ - hsoc in a healthcare management class</p>

<p>the other thing is, if you look at where penn grads go (career surveys on career services site), can you think about the fields you might be interested in trying - and then from there, what classes might prepare you to get internships / jobs there</p>

<p>feel free to pm me for more thoughts / help, happy to help out - don’t want you to end up like some of the kids whose resumes i’ve reviewed in recruiting, where there was visible curricular indecision that hurt their applications</p>
