Dilemna

I have 2 options:

Go into electrical engineer at Mcgill and use as much ap credits as I can (I have bio, potentially chem, calc ab, euro history, and english). I will try to get a high gpa so if I dont like electrical, I might switch to mechanical.

Go into the general engineer program where I won’t be able to use any of my ap credits. If i can maintain a 3.0 gpa, I can choose whichever discipline I want. However, my top two choices would still be either electrical and mechanical.

Which one is a better option? It would be easier to switch major in the general program.

I would go with option 1. The first two years of engineering school is very similar, if not the same, between majors. Option two would be wasting a lot of time you already put in.
