Dining for women - Anyone involved?

<p>I just heard about this organization [Dining</a> for Women | Changing the World One Dinner at a Time](<a href=“http://www.diningforwomen.org/AboutUs/MissionVision]Dining”>http://www.diningforwomen.org/AboutUs/MissionVision) I’m sure some people on this BB are are involved in it. I’ve got a few things on my plate right now, but this looks like something I could get behind. What are your experiences?</p>

<p>Here’s part of the explanation of the organization,

Dining for Women is a dinner giving circle. Our chapter members “dine in” together as a chapter once a month, each bringing a dish to share, and our “dining out” dollars (what we would have spent if we had eaten at a restaurant) are sent to programs empowering women worldwide. We then combine all donations from hundreds of our chapters to support carefully selected international programs each month.

<p>Haven’t heard of this organization but I attend two similar fundraisers, Chicks for Charity and Lunch for a Purpose. Both organizations have meals at local establishments charging 5-10 more than the cost of the meal. This money goes straight to a different charity monthly. In addition, there is a 50/50 drawing and silent auction items. A representative from the charity speaks and a good time is had by all. No overhead.</p>
