Dinner Recommendations Near Boston College

I know, I waited til the last minute. on one of the busiest weekends of the year…

Would anyone be kind enough to offer me some suggestions as to where to take 11 family members out to dinner during my daughter’s commencement weekend in May? The type of food doesn’t much matter. Would like to have a separate room or an area of the restaurant that is not right on top of other diners. Ideally, would like to keep the food portion of the tab somewhere near $50.00 per person for appetizer/salad, entree, and dessert.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Although it’s been a few years since I’ve lived in the area, the only places I can think of that would accommodate such a large party easily are Legal Seafoods and possibly the Cheesecake Factory.

I don’t know if you have an account on Open Table or not but it is easy to set one up and its free. It is a reservation website and you can choose the neighborhood that you want to eat in. It even has customer reviews. I was just on it a few minutes and happened to notice that they have a feature that provides restaurants with private rooms for parties, etc. Check it out.

^I do have an Open Table account and I’ve made reservations using it on many occasions but have not utilized that specific feature before. Thanks for the suggestion and to you as well Sop14’sMom.

Legal Sea Foods, assuming you like fish, lobsters, etc. The mussels I had there for an appetizer a couple of months ago were incredibly good. There are several in the Boston area, so you’re bound to be pretty close to one.

If that is graduation weekend, it might be a good idea to go to another neighborhood to eat and get out of the fray. The North or South ends have a wide variety of great choices.

As for that private room option of Open Table, I had never seen it before either so it might be new. Good luck!

Yep, graduation weekend. The only one in the “neighborhood” (staying at the Sheraton in Needham) that had some promise was Sweet Basil, but when I called it was a disconnected phone number. Are they out of business? According to Yelp, they don’t take reservations anyway but I thought I’d call and see if they would make an exception for this size group. I’m a little confused because Yelp says it is okay for groups but the reviews say the interior is tiny.

Close to campus, I would suggest The Capital Grille (Rt. 9/Chestnut Hill, MA) or Papa Razzi (Chestnut Hill Mall).

I would also like to suggest Coach Grill, Wayland. It is about 10 miles from your hotel (128/95 north to Rt. 20 west). It is one of my favorite restaurants. The service and food are wonderful. We have celebrated several family events there.

One place I know that does have private dining and has a fairly extensive menu and a nice atmosphere is Abe and Louies. It’s in Boston, probably 5-7 miles from BC. Here’s the website: [Abe and Louie’s](http://www.abeandlouies.com/index.cfm?pid=10249)

Look at the menus–prices are probably right around $50 per person for an appetizer and main course. Drinks or desert might put you over that price.

I made a reservation for our group at Papa Razzi. Thanks, Dogwood. Thanks for your suggestion as well, Bromfield.
