direct admit for engineering

what colleges offer direct admission to their undergraduate aerospace engineering programs?

Many colleges do.

Are you asking which colleges don’t require you to apply directly into engineering with certain (higher) stats?

What are your stats?

What is your budget?

North Carolina State University

I thought most colleges did.

I’m not sure what he’s asking.

Since some B-schools require students apply during their soph years, is he wondering if engineering schools do the same?

He may be wondering if you can go directly into aerospace as a freshman. One son went to UVa ,another goes to Virginia Tech, both in engineeering. At both schools, you start off in general engineering type courses and then switch to a particular focus after you have completed those courses. In other words, even though both schools have aerospace, you would not start off there as a first year student. Packmom says you can go directly into aeropspace at NC State so obviously schools handle these things differently.

Colleges with first year general engineering are better deals as there are usually no entrance restriction on which engineering discipline you choose to join in your sophomore year.

^^^

I agree… I think Freshman engineering programs are a great idea. Students get exposed to all kinds of engineering areas and then they can choose which best suits them.
