My son received an email today that is Utah nursing app is under review and if selected would have an electronic interview with verbal and written responses. Anyone have some insight what some of these questions could be?
My daughter received a Pre-Licensure BSN Essay Supplemental Request from CSUF late last week.
Rejections from CSUF and CSUSM yesterday
My son was rejected as well which we expected to happen and he didn’t want to go to either school so it all happens for a reason! He has acceptances at other schools but man do I wish CA and Hawaii would just let us know by now!!!
Thank you to all who have posted here. It has been a valuable tool while navigating this process.

We are waiting to hear back from SDSU, UCI, Cal State Fullerton
Where is she leaning towards?
Did anyone get into FAU (Florida Atlantic University)? Can you please share stats and how much out of state merit was given? Thanks!
my son got in to FAU. he has a 3.95w and 3.79 uw. Only received 1K/year for OOS merit, he received 5k/year from USF. We are from CA and hands down OOS Florida tuition is still less expensive than CA universities and are about the the same price as Cal Poly and SDSU. Our room and board prices are out of sight
Do you mind sharing her stats? Congrats! I know that is a tough one to get!
My son just got his admit to sdsu nursing
Could you share stats?
Decisions got easier today.
Daughter did not get into SDSU nursing. 4.23 W, 4.0 UW GPA, 2 years health care volunteering, volleyball captain, 6 AP classes, and 2 DE classes, instate. I’m happy for those who made it and GOOD LUCK to those going for it next year. They have some high standards!
She was offered admittance to the university as a Public Health major but she has several other direct admit acceptances so no dice.
he applied to some direct nursing programs while also applying neuroscience (pre-med) to other schools. He isn’t sure whether to pursue medicine or go the nursing route. (Mom is a nurse) The application to medical school is ridiculously rough these days.
Unweighted UC GPA: 3.96
UC Weighted (capped): 4.28
UC Weighted (uncapped): 4.72
11 APs. 4 DE.

Our update. I’ve been unable to get attrition data for Rutgers NB and think it might be high. So that’s off my kid’s list. Visited Creighton in the freezing cold and it was nice but…cold. Accepted to TCU after initial deferral with insufficient merit aid (total cost of attendance $65k/year). Waitlisted USFCA after initial deferral. Rejected by CSUF and CSUSM. Awaiting the rest of her reach schools: NYU, SDSU, UCI, UCLA.
Planning to visit CWRU and Loyola and repeat visit to University of Arizona to see the honors college now that she’s accepted and attend admitted students day. Overall, I think she’s going to pick Arizona. It’s their first year direct entry but everything else about it seemed appealing. Total cost of attendance is around $45k/year.
She withdrew her acceptances from PLU, Chaminade, Rutgers, alt majors at the CSUs, Westminster, Drexel, Pace, Quinnipiac, Duquesne. Probably has ruled out Seattle, Portland, Xavier but hasn’t pulled the trigger. Stayed on the waitlist at USFCA and Gonzaga but doubt she’d pick either over Arizona unless there was a big cost advantage (unlikely).
Home stretch!
is she waiting on SDSU for nursing? I believe they already notified who they accepted about a week ago. I thing I saw it on the SDSU forum but maybe it was reddit?
I doubt this is helpful for Fall 2025, but Im guessing Fall 2026 families will look at this thread too. There is a new program at University of Kentucky call Public Health Nursing Scholars. It is a dual degree in Public Health and a BSN in nursing. If you get in, its a DA for their both their ABSN and BPH. You start in public health then junior year, move to nursing and finish everything in 4.5 yrs. Its a cohort of 25 students. My kid got in this year and its their 2nd year of the program, so its not widely known You first apply to UK for prenursing and then they send you the secondary application to apply for the nursing scholars. Just wanted to add it as a possible DA for families. We were really impressed when we toured the program.
Yes both acceptances and rejections have already gone out. Apparently they do most acceptances first with some rejections and then theres a big wave of rejections. Obviously preparing for that. Seems like a ■■■■■■ system that doesn’t really respect the rejected students.
Congrats on getting in several places. Curious your stats - my daughter is considering TCU nursing for next fall and wondering what students who get in profile might look like. Thanks!
Come on Manoa!!! Send your rejection letters so my son can mentally move on!
Also has anyone done their interview at University of Utah? He has till 3/17 and dragging his feet b/c he has mentally decided he is going to FAU once he gets rejected from Manoa
