Direct admit programs

Can anyone confirm for me if these are direct admit nursing?

McDaniel College

University of South Carolina Upstate

Wheaton College MA

Indiana University of PA

Salem State University

Can I ask where you live? Only because I don’t know if I’d apply to Salem State if I were OOS. It looks like you might be on a strict budget. If so, and you are instate, than Fitchburg also has a nursImg program (but another school I wouldn’t recommend if OOS).

Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania (IUP) and Wheaton College MA are direct admit. McDaniel offers both direct entry and “gated entry” (apply at end of 3rd semester). Univ. of South Carolina Upstate does not appear to be direct admit, as it requires an application to upper division nursing.

Not sure why my post was flagged and hidden so I’m hoping you see this. From out of state but looking preferably in New England. Is there a reason you don’t recommend Salem? I’m trying to find some schools that are less competitive that have a town and not just in the middle of nowhere. And what is it about Fitchburg that you recommend more?

The out of state population of Salem State is less than 10% and it is very much a suitcase school that clears out on weekends. Fitchburg is the same way, but at least Salem is a better town. I’d say they are comparable with price and admission. I do know people that were in the Fitchburg nursing program and liked it (many years ago) but they were all local and lived at home, so I was throwing it out there if it was another insane option for you (but it’s not)

If looking for direct admit in MA, Merrimack has a new direct admit program that I’ve heard great things about. It’s very hands on and you get into practicums right away. Salve Regina and Endicott are both direct admit and have beautiful campuses. Of those, Salve is obviously the best town. We know kids that have done well with merit at all of these schools, but they were all male athletes, so it might not be the same pool.

I’m not sure what stats/budget you’re working with but UVM is in of my favorite towns and the medical center is right on campus.
