Is Direct Hits more effective for the earlier SATs like October rather than March?

No. The test-makers don’t purposely read Direct Hits and put more of the words in the October SAT than in the March SAT. That’s ridiculous. The October SAT is not easier, either, because the curves or the test’s objective difficulty are not determined by the group of students that take the test. They are determined mostly beforehand, so all test dates are (theoretically) equal.

Maybe in one particular year, this was the case. But in the long run, no. Direct Hits will be equally effective either month. I highly recommend the book, however.
