Just wanted to get other CCers opinion on this.

Is it advisable to direct all incoming mails to ur Cornell e-mail, to your other e-mail ID? Are there any risks of your Cornell account being more susceptible to crackers if you do so?

if i understand your question correctly, you want to know if you should direct all the mail from other email accounts to your cornell account. NO. your cornell account will be flooded enough as it is, and it’s good to keep things separate. i don’t know about crackers and spam and all that, but so far my account has been pretty well protected.

right now i direct my cornell mail to both my uportal account and my private one

Aloe…Actually, I meant it the other way around. As in…whether mails to our Cornell ID should be directed to our personal mail ID.

Don’t redirect either way, keep things separate. You may not get much school email now, but you’ll enjoy the separation soon enough if you don’t tangle them.
