What is the difference between the director of admissions and the dean of admissions?

Probably none. Different names for different schools. Some schools, the head of admissions actually holds the position of Dean (like the Dean of Students, Dean of Academic Life), in others it is a more administrative position.

ohh ok…so is there sometimes more than one?

Your questions are so short it’s hard to know what you’re really asking. So I can only hope this is what you’re after. These are all just administrative titles that indicate a certain level of responsibility. The way the titles are used at different schools may be different. What’s called a dean at one school might be a vice president or associate vice president at another school. What’s called a director here might be called a dean somewhere else. If you have BOTH, then I suspect the organization looks like this:

Dean of X, Y, and Z
|
-----------------------------------------------
| | |
Director of X Director of Y Director of Z
Maybe it would help if you explained why you want to know about this.
