Well, my head is spinning.
Like so many others, we are finding our TV, cell, etc bills too high. We’ve had Directv for maybe 10 yrs. No ‘triple play’ plan so kinda expensive as a stand alone service.
One of our few splurges but just got the NINE percent increase in this month’s bill.

So, time for my once or twice a year call to the retention dept. After speaking to 2 front line reps, I finally get to Derrick. He reviews our account, good longtime customer, blah, blah, and asks if he can give us a deal on premium channels. NO, I’m looking to cut my bill not add to it Derrick.

Oh, I see…so I end up with an additional $12 month off on top of the $10 I already have.
And then he throws in 3 months free of Showtime. Great, now I can really get hooked on Weeds, Dexter, Homeland, Shameless and countless other shows I don’t know I love yet.

AND with a handy dandy “Cinema Connection Kit” ( a roku like thing I surmise) I can also see all those past seasons and do some real binge watching.

Anyone have their Directv DVR hooked to their wireless home network?
Is it difficult to set up? Is the ‘on demand’ stuff that’s free worth anything?
Can I really watch all those old seasons of Showtime TV series?

Any info to help unspin my brain would be appreciated.
