I am assisting someone with choosing benefits for a federal job and it looks like employees of the US Government are not offered disability insurance as a benefit of employment. Can anyone recommend a good company that sells these types of policies? Is FedAdvantage a good choice? Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
The agency’s person is joining may have an employee welfare/morale organization that may offer such insurance.
My H is federal employee. He got his through our regular insurance guy but he’s had it since before he started there. He was lawyer in private practice before.
I thought that there was disability retirement when you have worked for 18 months or more? So, no liability insurance but disability retirement.
