<p>Hi, I want to apply to UCSD’s graduate program in biology in a couple of years, but I just got put on probation by my current school for punching a cop. Do they look at disciplinary records?</p>
<p>Yes, I believe they do. However, if you did something a long time ago and don’t have a ton of infractions against you, and if you served your punishment, then you should be okay and be able to explain it away. Punching a cop seems kind of serious though so I don’t know how that will look…</p>
<p>For graduate programs, I believe they only ask whether you’ve ever been convicted of a felony. Punching a cop may or may not be a felony considering you’re in NY :P</p>
