Discontinued language majors in COLA

Several majors in the College of Liberal Arts will no longer be offered, or will be consolidated into other degree programs, at the end of the Fall 2011 semester. Students who are currently majoring in, or who plan to declare a major in, one or more of these degree programs should meet with an advisor to prepare for these changes.</p>

BA in Turkish Language and Literature (L93000)
BA in Russian Language and Culture (L87600)
BA in Czech Language and Culture (L29900)

<p>According to the email, these languages will continued to be offered, but you’ll only be able to get a degree in either “Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures” or Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. Looks like Greek is getting cut completely. Students currently enrolled in any of the listed majors are not affected, but anyone enrolling after Fall 2011 will not be able to major in any of the above.</p>
