Do any chemical engineer or physics need discrete math?

Many of our physics majors at Illinois Tech take it as a mathematics elective. It is not required.

Only if you’re interested in higher level programming or proof-based math. Can be useful, but not really necessary.

discrete mathematics is an extremely interesting topic and like Neodymium said its important to programming and everyone should know how to program now a days

its super light read and gets you the basics of discrete math, see if you like it, if so take the course

Discrete Math is a requirement for Computer Science. I think there is a lot of proofs in that class, unless you like proofs, don’t take it.
