Well,I just got my SAT II results.
Math IIC-700
and Chem-700

And the percentiles were pretty bad. 76 chem and 58 math.

Now,I know on the tests I didn’t do so ‘badly’. I mean percentile-wise I thought I would do well.

I know I didn’t make too many mistakes. I left 5 questions in Math though.

So,I remembered the bit where they asked us about how many years have you taken a course in chemistry/math. What subjects have you covered etc

Those were the optional questions before the actual test.

Now,I have done the ‘highest’ options in my school. Like if they said how long have you done this for…I did it for the maximum no. of years given.

That was the answer for most of my questions.

So it got me thinking,if they were marking my test on the basis of how much content in the tests I had known or what calculator I was using…etc ?

I know it sounds stupid, but I didn’t expect to get those marks.

You got good good scores…people who are good at chemistry and math tend to take those tests which is why the percent-tiles are lower than it looks like they should be (although the math one is somewhat surprising to me). There is no conspiracy against you.

nt, I got 700 on the chem test as well. I though I would get about 750+ because I missed 2 or 3 and the rest of the questions didn’t seem that hard. I also marked the highest options though I don’t think this actually affected my score. May be I was just fooling myself that the test was that easy.

:)) you’re welcome anyway, is 700 at chem a good score? most of the scores of the people who post here are about 750+ which depresses me even more

I was kind of depressed with 700 chem…because the level of chem in my school is WAY higher. But,I guess 700+ is good enough for good colleges. I guess…I dont knw,I’m probably consoling myself!

I’ll google the question and see what I get.
