I liked the Budweiser Clydesdale commercial. I think it’s a reach saying it promotes underage drinking. I also liked the Michelob Amber commercial with a group of people playing football. IMO, the magic fridge commercial was the best.

Thought FedEx was the best, with the Magic Fridge a close second. GoDaddy was gross - what the heck were they trying to sell? Porn sites?

It would have been funnier with Russell Crowe: <a href=“The Smoking Gun: Public Documents, Mug Shots”>Russell Crowe Phone Fling Bust | The Smoking Gun;

Agree on the magic fridge.

No one else has mentioned the Nationwide Fabio commercial? Everyone in the room laughed out loud here; had us fooled, we thought it was a stupid shampoo commercial until the punch line.

I missed several of the others (hazard of Super Bowl party socializing); thanks for the link, 1moremom.

Also agree that the majority fell flat, including Burger King and Diet Pepsi.

I had to watch them online the next day – didn’t get the Super Bowl here. I agree with most of the comments. Actually, I also really liked the young Clydesdale, but I did (independently!) make a connection to young people and beer. I thought it had a subtle suggestion that beer was a way a young person tries to appear older and imitate his elders. Without that context, the idea of a couple elders helping their young 'un succeed with an unseen helping hand was touching.

In general, I liked the beer commercials. I laughed at the revolving fridge. I liked the stadium cards.

I liked the cell phone commercials. I liked the Fed-ex. I was also fooled by Fabio. Enjoyed the shots of Venice, though, since we’d just been there.

I was horrified at the Burger King commercial. Reminded me of the 60s “coffee, tea, or me” stewardesses. Thought the Diet Pepsi was flat (pun intended). Was bewildered by the GoDaddy commercial. Not sure what they sell, but have no intention of ever checking it out. Seems like the kinda site that might inundate me with porn spam.

The monkey commercials are funny, but they started to look the same to me; the donkeys were a relief. I enjoyed seeing Kermit and Miss Piggy, but was surprised that they were both desperate enough to work for commercials.

Nobody’s mentioned the Sierra Mist one in the airport? With Kathy Griffith making the fake metal detector sound to get the Sierra Mist? I thought it was pretty clever :)
