Disinterested and Uninterested

Can they test us on the difference between disinterested and uninterested? I know the former traditionally means impartial … but few people adhere to it today.

And it gets even more perplexed:

Uninterested = Bored
Disinterested = Partial
Uninterest = - (Does not exist)
Disinterest = Boredom

So yeah… Why does disinterested mean partial whereas disinterest means boredom? What madness is this??? :confused:

Can they test us on this? I hear they’ve done so in the past.

They probably won’t. I mean, they’re not going to ask you what the difference between uninterested and disinterested is. And even if they did, it’s only one question. Nothing to worry about.
