Disqualified Student Returning to Complete Accounting Major

Hello,

I attended junior college for around 5 years non-stop before I was finally able to transfer to a CSU. When I transferred, I immediately began struggling in my accounting courses. I was quickly disqualified after only attending 3 semesters. After 2 years of working a 66 hour a week job and paying off my student loans, I’ve come to the realization that I need to go back to school and finish what I started, and hopefully get a more promising career for myself. I seriously asked myself what reasons caused my previous failure in my studies. I went and saw a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with ADD. Now that I am on medication to treat my ADD, I feel like I will be more than successful in obtaining my accounting degree, while also being able to work part-time and complete an internship simultaneously. I am now doing a retroactive withdrawal for the semester that most severely impacted my GPA.

I was hoping someone can give me an honest to god response to what are my chances of still obtaining a job with a big 4 firm. Will they see that it’s taken me 5 years to transfer from Junior College to CSU, and that it took me X amount of years to get my degree in accounting? I only ask specifically about a big 4 because I know it’s where the cream of the crop graduates are hired, and I want to see where I compare to them and how realistic I should be with my post graduation employment. Also, I am currently 26, and expect to be 29 by the time I complete my degree.
