Thanks for reading! I had a simple question aimed towards students who have written a MA thesis and/or Dissertation: what exactly is your strategy?

In other words, assume that you have selected a topic. What’s the first step you will embark on to begin your research? Consult the library? Sketch out an outline? Create a storyboard? Having never really cultivated research methods, I’ve naturally become flustered with my own research efforts, and am curious to hear how other graduate students approach research projects, note-taking, writing, drafting, and all. What is the method to your madness?

Since i’m currently writing my thesis, the promptness of responses is ESSENTIAL. I do appreciate any and all feedback!
