Distinction for Literary Magazine and School Newspaper writer/editor?

<p>I recently got accepted into the editorial staff for a state local literary magazine for children that I have written for in the past. And, hopefully in the upcoming year I might be editor-in-cheif of the school newspaper.</p>

<p>Does mentioning these activities show any distinction in my apps?</p>

<p>I don’t plan to go into English or Journalism major or anything, writing is just a hobby of mine. So therefore should I even mention these in an my apps?</p>

<p>Sure, mention those things. They are distinctions, particularly being on the editorial staff of a state magazine. One’s activities don’t have to coincide with one’s prospective major. Also, being able to write well is an important skill for all majors and careers.</p>
