Distinctions won't fit in 55 characters

I can only enter up to 55 characters in the distinctions text box. This is not enough to write the name of the contest, the year, and the medal (or rank) I got.

What should I do?
Besides, is there anyway to write more than 5 distinctions?

Keep it simple; select the distinctions most important to you. Here are some examples from applicants who posted in the EA results thread this year; each is less than 55 characters:

Siemens Semifinalist, 2010
Grand Award at State Science Fair, 2009
1st place, State Varsity Math Competition, '10
3rd place (individual), Region 3, Mu Alpha Theta Log 1, '09
President of Math Club, Jr. & Sr. yrs.
Eagle Scout, BSA
State Champion, Multimedia, FBLA, 2009 & 2010

How would I write this:

7th and 12th place, ACM ICPC Arab Collegiate Programming Contest 2009, 2010 (Participated unofficially among college students)

7th & 12th place, ACM PCPC Arab Collegiate Programming Contest, '09-'10

well, that’s 75 characters… the limit is 55

besides, I have to stress that I participated unofficially because it was a contest for college students

^ If it’s something you have to explain, then you can talk about it in the section for supplemental information.
