<p>I was curious: what’s the distributions of URMs within the different concentrations at Harvard? Particularly Hispanics I am concerned about and I am wondering what proportion are in Government/History/English compared to Science/Mathematics.</p>
<p>Good question, however I don’t think Harvard releases that information. A lot of people will say that URMs at top schools consistently choose easier majors (i.e. more humanities-based majors). But from my personal experience (I’m African American), I see a very different trend, many URMs choosing science fields (because many are premed) and business fields (economics).</p>
<p>I don’t think Harvard even keeps track of this information!</p>
<p>It would be an interesting project though wouldn’t it? Perhaps part of someone’s senior thesis.</p>
