I know a lot of schools yearn to have diversity but how far will they go? If they have already accepted 10 smart caucasian kids from CT and there is one spot left would they give it to
a: a smart qualified caucasian kid from CT. He is completly qualified in all aspects.
b: a not-as-academic kid from the bayou’s of louisiana. The kid from CT is better qualified academically and had better everything. The bayou kid is pretty good. Who would they accept? AESD

Interesting question. I would say all things close to equal on the application, the spot goes to the kid from the bayou. You, however, are using an example where one student is better qualified, so I think it would depend on what specific EC/sports do each do? Does the less qualified kid at least meet the “minimum” qualifications?

there are a lot of kids at Choate from CT - way more than ten, even in just my dorm. i mean, 25% of the student body are day students, but there’s still a high amount.

The correct answer is this shade of blue.*

I don’t think Admissions Committees hold shoot-outs like this. Think of each incoming class as a mural or tableau. If there’s just one more slot to fill it will be the impression or color that best completes the overall picture. From that frame of reference, this question asks if they will choose red over green. If you need to guess which one of the two will be accepted, you need to know what the rest of the picture looks like. If the Admission Office is trying to create a Picasso of a class, then my money is on #0276FD.

The above text color, #0276FD in hexadecimal, is known as “Picasso Blue.”

I had a job interview once where they asked “dog person or cat person?” I’m guessing kind of the same thing. ;)

Dog person versus Cat person? Easy! Antelope hunter. Better still: Ice sculpting.

Don’t just go outside the box. Destroy the box and build a crystalline decahedron.

I did answer truthfully, but I do like your answers better. Although better avoid hunting anything…not PC enough. LOL
