I am currently a sophomore who is interested in playing Division 1 football; programs I have in mind include the Ivies, Stanford, Navy, and Army West Point. I am aware that college coaches cannot email you until junior year. In the meantime, how can I contact coaches and receive notice whether they are interested in me or not?
As a sophomore you can email a coach and send your resume, video, etc. You can also call a coach and if they pick up, you are able to talk to them. They are not allowed, however, to call you back. When our daughter was being recruited for track, the Navy track coach told her that the service academies fell under different recruiting standards (as in, they could talk to athletes earlier), but I don’t know exactly how it all works.
