It’s Sisters Bake Shop. The website is a little klunky, but she is on FB and posts often. Tuesday is $1.00 cupcake day!

Counting Down - wedding sounds amazing! My hat is off to you - I could never do what you did! Mazel Tov to you and the happy couple!

What menu! I’m salivating. Have to go cook dinner. :)

Thanks Countingdown. I’ll have to make a point of being in Frederick on a Tuesday!

Great job, CD. You rock! So glad it all worked out. Methinks you deserve a vacation!

I love the way your friends and family were involved in the prep. What a nice way to bring people together. Can you explain more about the logistics of preparing and serving your yummy menu? I can imagine doing diy flowers and decor, but the food is intimidating.

DH and S2 made sure to try all the dishes out on us at home over the past few months to make sure they were OK for making/serving so many people. The chicken, fish and beef are dishes we have made many times before, including in large group settings (DH once catered for 165 at a Gilbert & Sullivan singalong, and we did cooking for our synagogue pretty regularly.)

Took us several tries to find a cider roasted veggies recipe that we liked. Not all the veggies took the same amount of time to cook, we wanted more of a glaze than liquid, etc. We’ve made the other veggie dishes previously. I make lots of cobbler, so that was easy.

Started cooking three days prior, had friends and family to help with chopping and prep,. The short ribs taste better when they have soaked in the tomato sauce for a couple of days, so he cooked them Thurs. and sent out to neighbors’ fridges. Salmon was done Fri. so it could chill, chicken was prepared Fri. and baked Sat. am. We rented several hot boxes in which we put the aluminum trays of food and hauled them to the venue. We had a proof oven there which kept things hot, plus a regular oven for baking appetizers just before the cocktail hour.

If the bride could tolerate warm weather (she is from northern England; anything over 80 is terrible for her), we would have had an outdoor BBQ. Then again, it rained here last Saturday, so that would have been a whole 'nuther story!

I think it is pretty easy to DIY a dessert spread. Bring in a cake/cupcakes, but if you want other goodies, there is plenty of yummy stuff that’s easy to make.

Another way to reduce your expense is to bring in stuff from your favorite restaurant and then make side dishes to go with it.

Thanks for sharing all of this countingdown! The wedding sounds lovely. Congrats to your S and DIL!

I don’t have a fraction of your creativity or energy but will be bookmarking this for future use.

Congratulations CountingDown to you and your entire family for planning & pulling off not only what sounds like a fabulous wedding, but for doing so filled with love, fun & what sounds to me like very little strife! What a wonderful start for the bride & groom :)

As you know, I’ve shared tidbits along the way with my girls and they LOVED the Pratchett & Seuss readings!

I don’t have the organizational skills (to say nothing of my cooking or creativity) to have pulled this off. All I can say is Bravo!! And I am sure your bank account greatly appreciated it as well!!

Congratulations to your S and DIL, and kudos to your family for making it all happen!

Mazel Tov, and how nice of eddieodessa!

Countingdown, remember when you first saw your son in his wedding attire? It was when we were in the room storing the flowers and such. You just hugged and hugged and hugged him. Many of us had tears in our eyes. So much love. It was beautiful.

^ Love this! I’m tearing up just reading about it.

Want to share the cider roasted vegetable recipe? Sounds intriguing!

Congratulations!! And thank you so much for posting the outcome. It was fun hearing about the planning…but even more fun to hear how womderful it all was on the wedding day!

Eddie, he just took my breath away. I had no idea I’d react that way.

mathmom – let me check with DH on what mix for the glaze he finally used. I have the recipe, but I know he changed it along the way.

Anyone who wants a shutterfly link with pics, PM me. I am just about done with the album of DIY stuff!

Shutterfly site is up. PM me. :)

CD, I was thinking of you this weekend! S2 just had his one year anniversary with his GF and they seem rather serious…I may be coming to you for advice sooner rather than later.
