Don’t get me wrong, obviously if your essay is like 7 pages long, there’s something fishy about the wordcount…but if your essay is a paragraph over the standard 2 page double spaced essay, are they going to frown upon that?

If it is a little bit longer than 2 pages (stress on the little part), I would suggest that you do a word search/replace for all commas and periods and replace them with one or two sizes lower. For this type of paper, it should lower the size a decent amount in terms of how much you need to get rid of.

Funnily enough, this trick also works for school term papers. If you have 5 and a half pages, using this will get it to over 6… :-D

Regardless, I am sure you can cut out a lot of words. I had 849 on my second most recent draft which, through the help of some people on these boards, I got down to 700 words and kept the entire message and theme the same. Now the paper is probably more powerful than before!!

Thanks for the advice!
Haha this is probably my sixth draft…I started with over 1400 words and am now at about 750.

Any other thoughts?

lol. interesting =O never realized that that could make a difference.

but yeah - thanks i shall try it next time i need to
