Do admissions officers automatically know which classes are required to graduate?

I have to take Health and General Science (basically 8th grade science) during my senior year in order to fulfill my state’s graduation requirements. My school profile doesn’t say anything about how these classes are required for all students. Does Yale know the graduation requirements for each state, or should I send in a letter to make sure?

I don’t want them thinking that I’m coasting for my senior year, but I’ve already taken all of the advanced classes that my school offers (minus college spanish - I don’t like foreign languages).

I wouldn’t worry about whether colleges know if you are coasting or not. If I remember correctly, on your counselor’s recommendation form he or she lists the rigor of your classes and whether or not you took the hardest classes that your school offers.

But to answer your question, I don’t think they know the graduation requirements because it’s different for each school/district/state,etc. But then again, there’s the admissions officer who may or may not be familiar with the local requirements… If you are worried about it, I guess you could just always give a call to the office of admissions.
