Do AOs change the way they look at people after working for a new BS?

I talked to a lot of admission officers whose resumes look like this:

Went to BS one.
Assoc director of admissions at BS two for 5+ years.
Senior admission counselor at BS three for 10+ years.
Now Director of admissions and FA at BS four.

Given that “all schools are different” and “it’s all about fit”, do AOs get the “spirit of the school” right after assuming her position?

Possible answers would be:

 1. There are two or three other AOs who have longer experience with the school that will help make the decisions.
 2. Different school attracts different applicants. An AO will not be reading the same applications at a new school.

Someone who has been in the boarding school business and life for as long as you give as an example, would, in my opinion, understand the spirit of the new school right away. In fact, they have likely had lots of interaction with School four - as a coach, student, doing admissions events with them, combined student activities, etc. It’s actually a pretty “small” community, and in conversations with AO’s they seem pretty savvy about other schools.

Plus, they all know each other anyway, and the personalities of the other schools. It’s not a closed society.
