Do AP Scores considered for the admission?

Can someone with good AP scores + a good SAT score be a better candidate for universities than someone with a good SAT Score but no AP scores?

Basically, do AP scores have an impact on the admission process?

Are there any universities which require them?

In the UK, yes. In the US, no.

In the US, AP scores will carry little to no weight in admissions. Many high schools, including elite high schools, stopped offering AP courses, and their graduates go to fine universities.
