Do b**chy girls finish first?

Here’s the perspective of a self-proclaimed b1tchy girl –
I always say what’s on my mind and I don’t pretend to like people I don’t, because that doesn’t get you anywhere. At the same time, I’m not needlessly rude, but I have never, nor will I ever be a doormat. Plenty of people are turned off by my attitude. Boys and girls alike have pointed out to me my personality flaws. I certainly don’t have every boy chasing me, and I don’t have 1,000,000 friends. The b1tchy girls you speak of will date the boys who understand them and hang out with the girls who aren’t bothered by them. I do think there are certain advantages to having a very dominant attitude. While it perhaps doesn’t engender admiration, I definitely get respect. There are plenty of perks to being a nice girl, too. You just need to associate with the people who can see that.

This thread reminds me of a song:

“Hot girls have problems too.
We’re just like you
Except we’re hot.”

D2 and I bust a gut together on that one :D

My brain keeps doing one of those weird things where it reads this title wrong every time I see it - I keep reading it as do*chy girls finish first and i think “how rude”

I really don’t think mean girls win in the end. Usually, the world figures them out. Just like in the movies.

Yes, this is a rehash of several threads from this OP about a year ago, pretty much insisting mean girls get it all; some of it feels like nearly the same wording. This repeated focus seems unusual, at best.

But, no, it’s not my business. I will say this, though: judging people as mean or the variety of similar complaints, seems a bit , well, judgmental.

Nrds, love that song.

So OP this seems to be a keystone of how you currently see the world. That rude people get ahead and more mannerly people are left behind. ( although I dont view life as a competition I won’t quibble with you on phrasing)

You describe your mothers peers as being equally rude and self absorbed as your peers which gives me more info. If you had only described your peers as self absorbed and exclusive, I would surmise that youth and perhaps a bad batch were the culprit. But I have lived over half a century and have known less than a handful of people that seemed to be as shallow as the ones you described. Fewer than that if you take away those over 25.

I wonder if it’s not them, it’s you.

I LOVE THIS. I printed it and put in my smash journal. I can’t imagine a more true phrase when trying to help a young person struggle with anything that deals with comparing themselves to someone else…heck…goes for adults too.
