If they do, do the adcoms call? Or is it entirely staffed by students?

I still haven’t received one. =(

Maybe you’ll get one in the fall. They really only called to let me know about upcoming dates, so it might make sense that they call you in the fall to let you know about spring events. The person who called me was a student.

Hmmm seems strange if they do that since we (spring admits) have to SIR by June 1rst as well. I would assume that since the SIR date is June 1rst for all of us, that they are not just calling people who SIRed Cal already, but all admitted students that way they can convince you to NOT go to UCLA and answer questions before we make a decision of where to go. Otherwise, why would they set up phone banks this weekend instead of after June 1rst?

PS did any of you Spring Admits see that one could possibly attend another 4 year institute during the fall provided that we get it cleared by an admissions person at berkeley, its under the faq on myberkeley…

K, well then maybe you missed your phone call, and the student who called was too rude to leave a message. I am sure that you are supposed to get a phone call if everything other procedure for Spring admits is the same.

I called today, my Adcom said no. She said I can either keep going to my CCC or opt out of a semester of school. *sigh

Yea probably. =(

The more I think about it, I’m pretty sure logically it makes sense that they should call up spring admits as well. It seems like by them deciding to make calls the weekend right after decisions are released is for the purpose of congratulating you on being accepted and answering any questions.

Now on the other hand, if they set up phone banks after June 1rst, then I could see why. It would be to congratulating you not only on being admitted, but for SIRing them and answering questions in a more definitive sense since you’re already pledging. Also, this method would reduce the number of people they would have to call.

I haven’t received a call and I’m a fall admit. I’m sad. :-(

we call people from 5-7:30pm and 2morrow is the last scheduled nite. I have not called any spring admits. Give me ur # and I’ll call you if it makes you feel better, jk. :)

hockee…u did the phone banks today?..lol…i did them on Sunday… =)

dem bones… most of the calls, i left messages if i wasn’t able to get them on the phone but there was a couple of people i was unable to leave a message because we shut down at a certain time , besides that, we make 3 attempts to call back at different times so if they don’t leave a message, they will try to talk to you in person again…also, I don’t think the students are being rude…we don’t get paid to make these calls, we volunteer our time to do this because we want to help out future students.

and get food
