I pre-enrolled for HE 100: Critical Reading and Thinking, and selected Letter Grade over the SU option. It turns out that my college, Arts and Sciences, does not count HE 100 toward the 120 credits for graduation and the 12 credits/semester for good standing. I already have 16 other credits, so that’s not a problem.

However, I want to know if it factors into my GPA because it is such an easy A class (GPA-booster). If it doesn’t even help my GPA, then I’d drop it, because it’s like a joke class and there’s not too much I can learn from it, and would be a waste of time if it doesn’t count for ANYTHING.

This info should be in your Courses of Study (it’s the Bible when it comes to anything academic-related; check that before you post here). If not, e-mail the registrar.

Don’t take this class if you know it’s a “joke”. Seriously, don’t waste your time. Use those extra few hours a week to work harder in your other classes. Remember, at least one of your other classes will probably end up counting toward your major, and your major classes are the ones you need the best grades in. Even if an A in HE100 does factor into your GPA, does it really matter? A&S only count 2-credit classes as half of one class, and even then it won’t be in your major.
