Will I annoy adcoms?

I’m thinking about something similar [letting them know about a couple of awards I won after submitting the midyear report].

But my question is…how do I do this?

I submitted a bunch of supplemental material… (and accepted)

From what I have heard, its not annoying as long as its not redundant.

The question is not whether the material is annoying – they’re admissions officers, and their job is to evaluate the application you craft.

The question is whether this additional information is useful and necessary to present a pithy, on-point, must-admit application. If the additional information is redundant or scattered, it will not help your application and could actively harm it. But either way, it’s not about the emotions of the admissions officers reading your application.

Keep in mind that it is quite late to be submitting supplemental information, and there is no guarantee that all readers will see any updates to your application at this point.

^I see. Well, the way I saw it was that since Feb 15 is the deadline to submit my midyear report, I thought they wouldn’t read applications till then.

No, they started reading applications last month as they were completed. There’s no way they could read all ~15,000 applications starting Feb 15 and have decisions ready by Pi Day – there’s just not enough time. They will go into selection committee very soon.

My son who was deferred EA was asked by the coach who is recruiting him to have three more letters of recommendations done which we provided. We asked if it was too much and he said no. He said they want to get a good feel of each applicant and that this would be a great way to show it. Hope it works.
