So, I’m currently a junior and purely academic. Meaning, I hardly do any type of extracurricular (and don’t really want to haha). However, I take all college courses at a community college nearby instead of high school ones, and have been since my sophomore year.
Will this really increase my…attractiveness I suppose? I’ve also made myself a part of a club here at the community college and I took up tutoring this semester. Along with a decent ACT score, (I’m hoping to get a 32, or at least in the 30’s), what can I really consider safe schools, or reach schools? I’m just having trouble deciding where I’m most likely to get scholarships and all that stuff. I also, currently, have a 4.0, weighted and unweighted. I’ve never gotten anything but an A, but my high school doesn’t treat college classes like anything special.
Anyway, does this look good? Will have taken so many college courses (I’m also doing it as a senior) look good to wherever I apply, or is this not enough? I don’t need to get into some Ivy League, I don’t care, but I do want to get into a decent school and hopefully get some sort of academic scholarship. That’s what’s important.
I’d also like if you guys could recommend some schools I should check out–safe, reach, or whatever. I’m currently planning on becoming a chemical engineer.
P.S. I’m also gonna have an Associate’s in Math once I graduate. Will that look any good too? And I’m going to take the SAT subject tests Math 2 and Chemistry. I need them to apply to Carnegie Mellon.
