Since I’m graduating before AP scores are released, how am I going to send it to colleges? Will colleges still accept them if I got 4+ on all of them?
If you did not indicate a college on the answer sheet, then you can order score reports online:
https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/score-reporting/
Whether a college gives credit for a particular score depends upon the policy of that college.
I know it depends, but what I’m asking is if they accept AP scores in general after high school graduation. Is there a deadline?
Yes, but you have to use the link above to send your scores.
Why are you using the plural? Why would you send ot more than one college at this point?
If you’re attending a college in September, I’m not sure why anyone would wait. If you are applying to colleges at a later date, yes, you can send them later. But really, unless I’m misunderstanding the question, you only need to send scores to one college - the college you are attending.
I used plural because I’m asking about colleges in general, in case some colleges have different policies. Why would I send my AP score to multiple colleges if I’m only going to one? Just ignore the plural if you’re confused then.
Check with the college you are planning to attend (or the colleges to which you plan to apply). Some colleges will give you credit, others will let you opt out of the requirement (in favor of another elective), some won’t do anything for you at all. On the whole, state schools are more likely to give you credit, highly selective private schools probably won’t - but every college is different. I don’t think it matters when your scores come out; you took the tests while still a senior.
They all accept scores after HS graduation since nobody’s results from senior year are available before HS graduation if they graduated during the standard northern hemisphere timeframe of May/June.
That is up to the college. If any of the AP credits are being used to bypass freshman-level courses, then one would want to ensure that they are sent in time for the registrar to process.
skieurope OK that’s the answer I’m looking for. Thanks!
The evaluations for AP credit usually isn’t done until the middle of the first semester in many cases.
At some, yes, that is true. Which again gets back to the fact that the answer will depend upon the college.
Many do not say by when AP scores must be submitted but there is usually an expectation that you do so before the semester begins, typically by end of July, including so the college can verify that you can take a course you may have enrolled in that requires completion of the course for which you need AP credit. However, there are exceptions out there, including the UCs, which require AP scores to be submitted by July 15, see http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/index.html
Thus, you should check with the college to which you are admitted. The score, typically a 3, 4,or 5, needed to get college credit depends on the applicable course and the particular college.
