Hey! So I’ll get straight to the point– my sophomore year first semester grades were pretty horrible, but then I ended up with an A or A- in every class second semester. I was wondering if this improvement helps at all in covering up/ lessening the blow of my first semester grades? Or how important the first semester grades are in the first place?
Here are the grades: S1 and S2
Math (H): B- A-
Physics (AP): B A-
English: B+ A-
Chem (H): B+ A-
AP Spanish: A - A
Elective: A A
History: A A
Colleges will only care about your grades at the end of the year. To look at every student’s semester grades would quadruple their work load.
I think OP is talking about transcripts where both semester grades are listed and there is no year-end grade, just the two semester grades. I think you’re fine, esp since you have AP Spanish and AP Physics as a sophomore, that’s pretty challenging, and your only “horrible” grade is a B- in math honors class.
Colleges like to see improvement. They prefer high performance throughout.
