Do colleges care about your SAT essay score?

<p>Been quite an annoyance for me, since I got 790 on WR (which I am very satisfied with), but a 9 on the essay. (80 MC/9 essay).</p>

<p>From your experience/knowledge, would it be a problem to have a 9 essay (790 full score) when applying to a college?</p>

<p>Can you tell me please how did you study on WR ? I need to get high scores in my WR exams in January.</p>

<p>Regarding your question no based on my experience they just check total score for writing,reading,math.</p>

<p>For example I am applying for a university aboard they need 600 in each subject minimum.</p>

<p>Yep, read it, and read it carefully and take it word for word. There is nothing on the writing exam, that will not have been mentioned in silverturtle’s guide. If you’re looking for even more grammar rules and stuff, use [SparkNotes:</a> Today’s Most Popular Study Guides](<a href=“http://www.sparknotes.com%5DSparkNotes:”>http://www.sparknotes.com), and once you have a good foundation in grammar, being doing practice exams starting with the BB, real SAT exams, and then using exams that are closest to the real ones (such as Gruber’s, since it’s pretty good in writing).
PS. What’s that university, GenericMath, and are you going on a scholarship/financial aid, or do you intend to pay for it?</p>

<p>Thanks alot.well I am planning to go to University of Toronto physics undergraduate they do provide finical aid, but I will pay in full.
I will do AP exams in physics/chemistry/calculus AB that will provide me credit hour transfer which reduce the time in university.</p>

<p>I’m wondering about this as well. I got a 770 in Writing with an 8 on the essay and an 80 MC. Will colleges see the MC? I hope they will assume that my score was lowered by the essay…</p>

<p>@cricket123, lol, so you’re in the exact same situation as I am. Sucks to have a good MC but a bad essay eh?</p>

<p>Anyway, anyone with knowledge, please share it for me and others who share the same problems.</p>
