Do colleges know/care WHEN you took SAT Subject Tests?

I’m a freshman with a lot going on right now and my parents are freaking out about how I got a 750 on the SAT Math Level 2 I took in December.

Do colleges really care or even know about when you take the SAT 2s? I’m pretty sure my parents will freak out again when I take the SAT Bio M in April and don’t get an 800 on it.

I have a similar problem…I took AP physics as frosh (now sophmore) and got a 5 on the exam but got the SAT II back with a 710, will colleges take note of the fact that this was freshman year and have lower expectations, or should I retake? Thanks

you guys are FRESHMAN. calm down. i think colleges will take note of improved scores over time, regardless of what year you are when you take them. and you guys have plenty of time to get “better” scores

750 for Math Lvl 2 is actually a good score. So if you want an 800, go ahead.

710 may seem a little low for someone who earned a 5 for the ap physics exam, but it’s still a good score. So, there’s no need for retaking unless you want a higher score.

And, to directly answer your question, YES, colleges will know when you took all tests. The tests are all dated when they receive them. Lots of apps and supplements to apps ask specifically for the test dates next to the scores you put down – and then, in most cases, you’ll also have to have the scores sent directly from College Board and they’ll be associated with your test dates – and THEN, the college admissions people will have your high school transcripts and see that you hadn’t yet had pre-cal, for instance, in your freshman year, etc.

I feel sorry for some of you kids. Some of your parents are either way too hyped up, hard-driving, and pushy over these things, OR some of you kids just perceive that they are. Either way – that’s not good for you! You’re kids! That’s just too much pressure.

But I digress… the answer to your question is “yes, colleges will know when.”
