Do colleges like students with STEM experience

I am in a STEM (science technology engineering math ) program which is based by Project Lead the Way. My teacher said that if you take 4 or more years of these classes with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA colleges would favor you over another students. I have not seen anything like this or heard anything like this until now… Is this true and is STEM valued by colleges a lot?

*** I plan to major in engineering or computer science.

Will you take the highest level of math available to you, and all three of the main science courses (particularly physics if you are interested in engineering) during your high school years?

yeah, most likely, math definitly AP

“My teacher said that if you take 4 or more years of these classes with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA colleges would favor you over another students.”

Your analytical skills and critical thinking need some strengthening. Of course colleges favor higher performing kids over less achieving kids. STEM is one avenue but certainly not the only one.

ok… So on a scale 1 to 10 where 10 being the most, how much do colleges value STEM?
