Hi,

Do colleges look at any regular decision applications before Jan 1? Mainly wondering about Rice University, and I don’t think they use rolling admission.

Thanks!

The answer is not much. Until about 10 days ago Rice was dealing with ED decisions. Since ED decisons were released, winter break has happened and those who actrually make decisions are likely in the Carribean somewhere sipping rum and cokes with no desire to suffer through the review of any student’s file. The main activity between now and about mid-Jan involves mostly clerical and supervisory personnel assuring all the files are organized and completed for review since the decisonmakers don’t review for an admission decison before a file is “complete,” meaning all required materials including transcripts, test scores, etc. are in it. They may actually review some completed files before mid-January but most reviews will likely begin thereafter.

Awesome! Thank you very much!
