<p>The writing score counts just as much as reading and math. But you should definitely send your scores because most-if not all- schools super score. They will take your highest scores from each section, so don’t worry about it.</p>

<p>Because the writing section is relatively new, there is little data on how it correlates to college level achievement. Some colleges weigh it equally with the other two sections, some weigh it less, and some don’t even consider it. Before the 3 part SAT I test some schools, like some ivies, required the SAT II writing test, and after a lot of pressure (also from the UC system) collegeboard decided to put Writing on the SAT I test. Right now it’s difficult to say how much it correlates to intellect, but obviously someone with a 400 writing score will obviously not be the same as someone with an 800. Schools have different policies so I suggest you do some research on whether or not vanderbilt and emory look at the writing section.</p>
