The question pretty much says it all. If you’re some minority that doesn’t want their status known (i.e. Asian), it would be pretty obvious what your race was if collegeboard sent the picture. I already signed up for October and its too late to reregister and I really dont want colleges to know what private info like race which might bias them.

The required sat picture, btw for those who don’t know, is one you have to print on your admission ticket to prevent fraud.

bump…

Of course not.

Thank you AimingAt750. I posted my last message before I saw your reply lol :)

Actually, colleges will be able to see your picture. Here is a quote from an article that was on CNN concerning the new security procedures that the College Board has implemented:

“Student photos will also remain in the testing databases and be checked again by high school counselors and college admission officials once scores are calculated and submitted.”

Of courses colleges aren’t suppose to use testing photos as part of the admissions process, but will they resist the temptation? How true is the adage you can’t judge a book by its cover?

Actually, the picture isn’t even required, yet. Not until the year of 2013…so hope you picked a good picture and don’t jump the gun the next time…k?
