Do colleges, such as MIT, look at your state standardized testing scores?

Such as CST’s in California? Does it have any impact on college admissions?

Like Star testing, i am not talking about Sat or Act but just state mandated testing.

sorry i just found out the answer, does any1 know how to delete this thread? Im new :]

No need to delete it. I’d post the answer you found and where you found it, though, so that other people can be able to see this thread and find the answer if they’re confused :)

Though I don’t believe MIT looks at CST’s and such…

If any college looked at any of my standardized testing scores, I’d be surprised. Of course, if you’re considering going to MIT, chances are you’re already in the 95+ percentile, so does it really matter?

"I’m a junior in California, so I can answer your question.

STAR testing measures the proficiency of your school in teaching you the basic standard curriculum at grade level. The school receives an API score based on your test results and this determines how well the school is doing. The state goal is 800 for all schools, but only the best schools get a score that high.

STAR testing makes no impact on your college applications nor is it reflected on your transcript. But you should still do well because it’s embarrassing to get below basic. Try to get Advanced level for all subjects."
