If my GPA is lower than their average admitted freshman, will they look at why it is? I took honors/college credit/flex classes that were “harder” than regular classes but not weighted. For example I have a friend that goes to a different high school and we both took honors U.S. history freshman year and got B’s. Her school weights all honors classes so she has a higher GPA than me if that makes sense??
1/ Because each HS weights differently, colleges will look at UW GPA, or will weight according to their standards.
2/ Colleges will view your GPA in context with your classmates. The School Profile will generally break down a class’ GPA by decile or some other bucket.
That would be about the extent they will delve into the reasons for your GPA/
