<p>Of course you have a chance at an ivy. Whether or not you have a chance at Harvard or Yale or other very top echelon colleges depends on your ECs and how you put together your application.</p>

<p>By the way, it’s a really, really bad idea to try to get into “an ivy”. The ivys are not the top colleges, though many people treat them that way. Duke, for instance, is often more highly regarded than, say, Cornell. Try to engage in a genuine and complete college search rather than just try to get into any ivy.</p>

since many IVY schools prefer high verbal and math scores…</p>

<p>but who knows, the total package is what counts</p>

<p>Your race matters, too. If you are part of an under-represented minority, you will have better chance of getting into top schools.</p>
