Anyway, as the title of this post presumes I want to know whether as a junior I still have a decent chance at the schools I want to go to or whether I should just give up ( am a junior now)
i ask this because if my chances aren’t decent- ex: probably not getting in- then I don’t want to deal with eventual disappointment. So please help me make this less painful.

<p>It would really help if I could understand your GPA…but based off everything else I can tell you right now that you should be set for BU, NYU and Georgetown you’re on the border, and for University of Chicago and Columbia you may have a shot if A) you study hard for your next SATs and get 2100+ and B) write a really good essay for them.</p>
<p>Ask your counselor for your gpa in a 4 point scale, my school does both 100 point and 4 point scale. gets me mad since colleges would rather see your 4 point</p>

<p>I would say you would be a strong applicant for BU and Chicago, decent for NYU and Georgetown, and longshot for Columbia. The fact that you’re an URM should definitely help. </p>
<p>thanks, I really appreciate all the responses I talked to my dad and he’s willing to let me go to school in Washington D.c. so i’ll defintely apply to Georgetown. It seems that although i thought all my credentials were pretty awful others think that my stuff is okay or can be improved this year.</p>
<p>I think you’ve got a strong shot at BU and NYU for sure. Being an URM will help you, but your scores/class rank still aren’t up to par. I’d say Columbia is your biggest reach, followed by Georgetown then Chicago. Good luck!</p>
<p>And if you want to go to school in DC you could always apply to George Washington or American. You also might want to look into more Liberal Art Colleges as well.</p>
